Is Health Care Right For You?

Each health care field has its own specific demands on your interests, abilities, and education, but there are some qualities that are necessary for all health care professions.

  • Goal Centered:  Most importantly you must remember the patient's well being is the most important goal.

SDS Career Assessment
A career assessment is a great way to see if a health career is right for you. The Self-Directed Search (SDS) career skills assessment helps both adults and high school students to evaluate their career options. The SDS allows each participant to choose careers and fields of study that best match their self-reported interest and skills.

If you are interested in taking this assessment, you may contact Jill Niemczyk at Northeastern WI Area Health Education Center (NEWAHEC) to set up an appointment. NEWAHEC provides the SDS Career Assessment free of charge to students within their region. The total time for the career skills assessment and findings would be 30 to 45 minutes per person.
